Happy!!!

The other night I came across a couple of videos that I knew would be perfect for the Glad Gazette.  Now, I know some people are sick of Pharrell's song, "Happy," but you have to admit, it's upbeat!  And these students from a school in Detroit make it that much happier. 

The students' story makes the whole thing that much more moving.  I've been in Detroit Public schools, and they are often not a very happy place to be.  The teachers and staff are hard-working people who do the best that they can with what they have, which is not much.  The fact that this group of kids have someplace clean and safe where they can go learn - and at an arts-focused school to boot! - is amazing in the first place.  Secondly, the fact that they can sing with this sort of happy abandon shows just how much of an impact that school and its staff are having on the lives of these kids.

It makes me...yes...happy!!
